DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
With over 10 years of experience working in the industry as a professional Gaffer, Lee has worked in a wide variety of formats including TV series, shorts, features, music videos, commercials and promos. His most notable work includes, feature film Son of Rambo, TV series Misfits and Kidulthood. After working together on the feature film, Leila – directed by Lesley Manning, Vanessa and Lee teamed up to work together on The File Room. This was Lee’s first time stepping into the role of Director of Photography, but with years of experience at the top level of industry and an incredible eye for detail, the role fit like a glove.
Lee brought to the table a tremendous amount of passion and drive for the project as well as his contacts within the industry and his own personal resource to help fund the camera equipment for the film. Very much an integral part of the production, this film could not have been possible without his tireless determination and passion for the project.
COMPOSER & SOUND DESIGN
London based composer, sound designer, musician, and creative director Gio Galanti has cinematic variety in the bag. His wide range of scores, vary from minimal and ambient to epic orchestral tracks. Gio has been in the industry for over 30 years and has worked on countless projects, from films through to live events and everything in-between!
“Gio had been on my creative radar for some time.” Director Vanessa says “I knew he was a phenomenal musician as well as a creative genius and I was very keen to collaborate with him at some point in the future. When The File Room came along, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to work alongside such an incredible artist – thankfully he loved the project and said yes!”
Gio has created all of the original score and sound design for the film.

Vanessa grew up on the sunny coast of New Zealand, where the dramatic landscape inspired her with a love for photography and a penchant for a great story. After graduating with First Class Honours from Met Film School, she worked with the BAFTA award winning Feature Doc Director, Jerry Rothwell as the Assistant Director on his films. Vanessa has since gone on to set up her own production company and has over four years of directing experience across a variety of formats and genres, including: documentary, fiction, short films, music videos and corporate films. Working with actors, bringing scripts to life and crafting poignant cinematic moments are her greatest passions and overarching all of her work is a deep passion for crafting powerful, story driven films.
As Vanessa’s debut festival short, this film indicates great promise for the aspiring young director. When asked about her future in the industry, Oscar short-listed Director Chris Jones comments; “Vanessa has surprised me with her work which displays an intuitive skill for finding powerful stories where others may settle for mere soap opera and drama. Vanessa has the possibility of creating works that truly and deeply connect people.”

VISUAL EFFECTS & GRADING
Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Gustavo studied Media . After working for five years in the industry he did a Masters in Post-Production at Barcelona’s FX Animation School of 3D. Gustavo then moved to London in 2013. Now the lead Colourist and Compositor at FGreat Studios in London, Gustavo has worked on commercials and promos for leading brands such as Sony, Manchester United, CNBC, the British Museum and Channel 4.
A master at his craft, Gustavo has tirelessly worked on the File Room. He was key in designing and implementing all of the graphics and Polaroid effects in The File Room and has worked closely with the director to achieve a unique style and look for the film in the grade.
